Green Zebra is a distinctive self-pollinating slicing tomato with dark-green and golden-yellow stripes and bright lime-green flesh. Developed by plant breeder Tom Wagner in the early 1980s, its medium-small fruits typically weigh 3–4 ounces and measure about 1.5–2.5 inches across. The flavor is tangy and slightly tart, balanced by sweet citrus notes. Its vigorous indeterminate vines require sturdy staking, caging, or trellising. Prune excess suckers to direct energy toward fruit production, and secure vines with soft fabric ties to help prevent stem damage.

Growing Notes: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. After frost, transplant in full sun and rich, well-draining soil, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart. Water at the base, keep the soil evenly moist, and use soft ties to support the vines without damaging the stems.

Harvest Note: Pick when the fruit develops pronounced yellow striping, feels slightly soft, and releases easily from the vine. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production.
